Affiliate programs are a great way of marketing online. You pay only for the results you get - if someone referred to your site makes a purchase.

But if you want to make a really strong affiliate program, with adoring-sales-machines for affiliates, it must be VERY attractive to affiliates.

The best way to do that is to offer lifetime commissions. That means you pay commissions on EVERY purchase a referred customer makes, not just on the first purchase.

That may seem like a creative way to make you broke, but affiliates aren't there to help you make money, they're in it for themselves.

If you pay commissions for every purchase that your referred customers make, you offer your affiliates the chance to earn a lot more money than they otherwise would.

That will strongly motivate your smarter affiliates to work harder and refer more customers, and that is EXACTLY what you want them to do.

So what makes a great lifetime affiliate program? There are lots of things, but one of the most important elements is reliable tracking.

Setting up Affiliate Master is a fairly straight forward process.  If you already understand cgi scripts and server settings, setup will take roughly 30 minutes. 

If you are new to cgi scripts and server settings, don't worry, we have added many hot links that go into further detail.  Set up will take roughly an hour or so going through each of the detail steps.

To get started, start with step one and work your way through all steps.  Within each step we first give default install instructions (good place to start if you are new to cgi scripts).  Then, we give instructions on a few various ways of setting up the script.

STEP ONE
This is a very basic step.   Basically, this gets the server settings needed that will be used throughout the rest of the setup process.
  
STEP TWO
Setup the display.cgi program.   This program does the actual on-the-fly replication of the webpages.
  
STEP THREE
Setup the placeorder.cgi.  This program takes in the order information, can validate credit card numbers, assign the   reseller id, computes commissions, and/or send emails.  A bulk of the setup is done here.
  
STEP FOUR
Setup the commissions.cgi.   This program is used by the resellers to view their current, previous, or selected month of commissions.  commissions.html is also discussed.
  
STEP FIVE
Setup the commissions_admin.cgi.   This program is used by admin to display the commissions for all resellers for the current, previous, or selected month.
  
STEP SIX
Customize emails (touser.txt, tosponsor.txt, and tosupport.txt)
 
STEP SEVEN
This step is the final step and will explain how and where to upload the program and files to your server.
